The West.. A Mission Field?.

Forge is an innovative mission training network that seeks to equip Christian leaders for mission in a first world setting.

Forge recognises the enormous cultural shifts that have occurred in the world over the last few decades and is committed to developing leaders who can live and serve incarnationally, who have a holistic view of life and mission and who are able to re-think church structures recognising that one size does not fit all.

Forge encourages the dreamers, entrepreneurs and the risk takers in our churches to boldly seek new expressions of

Internships

The primary focus of Forge is action/reflection learning in the form of internships, a year long commitment to a specific missional context, participation in the three intensives and regular meeting with an approved Forge coach. We believe that the most significant learning occurs as we test our ideas against the coalface of reality.

A Forge internship is a year of inspiration and challenge as you grapple with new ideas and seek to implement them in your local setting.
For a detailed overview of what the internship entails contact us at one of the addresses on the back of this brochure and we will send you a prospectus

Postcards

Postcard days happen 3 or 4 times a year and focus on a wide variety of topics related to the emerging missional church. To stay in formed of these contact Kent to be added to the Forge WA email list.

Consultation

Consultations are available for local church communities wishing to rethink mission from an incarnational perspective. If you would like more information on how Forge may be able to work with your community then call Andrew or Kent for details.

Intensives

Over the course of the year Forge will normally hold 3 four day intensives, designed to both inspire and inform you as you take the missional adventure. While our preferred mode of learning is through the internship, with its practical aspect, we acknowledge that for some people a year out is not always an option. As such intensives offer a 'taste' of Forge.

The intensives are as follows:

1. Rethinking Mission and Church in a Post-Christian World

This intensive is normally held in late February or early March and focuses on the significant shifts that have taken place in the western world and explores how the church needs to adapt to meet the challenges that these changes present.

2. Discipleship, Mission and Sustainable Spirituality

This mid year intensive sharpens the focus on what we consider to be true discipleship and holistic spirituality. It also seeks to equip missional leaders to go the distance in frontline missional work, paying attention to their own spiritual formation and development.

3. Pioneering Leadership

This final intensive, usually held in October has the specific brief of exploring the shape leadership needs to take in missional communities, looking particularly at the Ephesians Ch 4 fivefold gifting matrix and also the different dimensions to Missional DNA.
All presenters at Forge Intensives must be actually practicing what they preach, so you will not be taught by armchair theorists!
church and new approaches to mission so that we can be genuinely connected to the heartbeat of Australian society.
The Forge dream is to see both new missional communitiesbirthed and established churches encouraged to refocus on the task of mission here in the Australian context!
Reframe

Reframe is a safe place to 'reframe' the way we look at church, Christianity, the whole Kingdom of God.

While Forge has a specific amount of content to be covered, Reframe thrives on conversation and its direction is shaped by the needs and questions of those who are present on any day.

Reframe meets around 4 times a year for input, conversation and simply sharing the journey. For more info contact Geoff Westlake or join the reframe group at yahoo
